The Alf v1.1 Specification available from the Object Management Group is, of course, the standard definition of the language. However, most people don’t find it so easy to learn a language just from it’s formal specification! To help with this, the Alf v1.1 Reference Guide provides an informal, graphical description of Alf, which still covers most of the language. While this guide is provided as part of the Alf Reference Implementation, it is generally applicable to all implementations of Alf (at least for those parts of the language a specific tool might implement).
